Frequently asked questions

What does this test measure and who is it useful for?

It measures practical responses in emotion recognition, regulation, empathy and social skills across UK workplace and public settings. It is useful to learners, curious readers and people revising this psychology topic.

How does the short version work during the attempt?

Only the Short version exists: 10 questions with a Time remaining countdown. Questions appear one at a time in fixed order; you must pick an answer, but you can go back and bookmark with Bookmark for review.

What should I revise before attempting it?

Revise the named skills such as emotion recognition, regulation, empathy and impulse control. In each scenario, practise identifying what reduces tension and preserves trust before you select. Use the optional Hint only as a method point.

How do I manage the overall time limit?

A single Time remaining countdown ends the test automatically, with unanswered questions marked wrong. Because you can return to previous questions, answer what seems right, use Bookmark for review, then adjust if time remains.

What do the result bands and pass mark mean?

You pass with at least 6 correct answers out of 10. The bands depend on your share: Needs work below 40%, Intermediate from 40%, Advanced from 60%, Expert from 80%.

What does the certificate include after passing?

The PDF certificate has your first and last name, score, date, certificate number and a QR code opening a verification page. It is attached to the result email and available in your account. It is not an official exam certificate.

How do retakes, rankings and privacy work?

You can retake with Start again, but questions stay identical, so retakes measure memory. Only your best attempt appears in rankings, showing score, time, first name and last initial. Results remain visible only to you; deletion can be requested on the data rights page.
